vehicle namely the Global Business Licence (GBL) and Authorised Company. Other types of vehicles like trusts, foundations and limited partnerships can also apply for a GBL licence.<\/p><p>A company applying for a Global Business Licence must pass the ultimate business purpose test which assesses whether it will be conducting business outside Mauritius. In applying this test to an application for a GBL, the Regulator assesses whether the ultimate purpose of the Company\u2019s proposed activity is an investment to be made or a service to be provided outside Mauritius.<\/p><p>The Regulator of global business activities in Mauritius is the Financial Services Commission (\u201cFSC\u201d). The role of the FSC is to license, regulate, monitor and supervise the conduct of business activities in the non-banking financial services in line with the internationally recognised principles and standards under the legal framework of the Financial Services Act 2007, Securities Act 2005, the Insurance Act 2005 and the Private Pension Schemes Act
