The Stock Exchange of Mauritius Ltd (\u201cSEM\u201d) is responsible for the operation of Mauritius’s primary stock exchange in Mauritius. Companies including Global Business licence companies and different types of investment funds can be listed on the SEM. SEM has recently won for the second consecutive year the \u201cMost Innovative African Stock Exchange of the Year Award\u201d at the Institutional Investment Summit and Index Series Awards organised by Africa investor, a leading international research and communication group, in collaboration with the New York Stock Exchange Euronext.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The SEM currently operates two markets:<\/p>

  1. The Official Market, which lists some of the largest companies in Mauritius spanning across different sectors of activity; and<\/li>
  2. The Development & Enterprise Market, which comprises a number of medium-sized companies and also offers opportunities for start-ups.<\/li><\/ol>
